your details.

Who is responsible

The Grand Ambassador Hotel & Banquets, Railway Road, Phagwara 144401, Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab. We decide how the personal data described here is used, and we are responsible for it. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that makes us the “Data Fiduciary”.

What this website collects

Very little.

• No forms. Nothing you type on this site is sent to us.
• No cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel or anything like them.
• Nothing loaded from other websites. The fonts and photographs come from this site itself, so opening a page does not tell Google, Meta or anyone else that you were here.
• The date picker on the home page passes your dates and number of guests to our booking page, in the web address. We do not store them, and they are not passed on to the booking engine.
• Our host, Cloudflare, receives what every website receives: your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. It uses these to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack. We do not use them to find out who you are.

When you call, WhatsApp or email us

The buttons on this site only open your phone, WhatsApp or email app. What you send then comes straight to the hotel.

We receive your name, your phone number or email address, and whatever you choose to tell us. Usually that is your dates, the number of guests, the occasion and your food preferences. On WhatsApp we also see your profile name, and your photo if your settings show it.

Please do not send card numbers by WhatsApp or email.

How we use it

To answer you, quote a rate, hold a date, and arrange your stay or function. That is all. You gave us your details for that purpose, and the Act allows us to use them for it.

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone for their marketing. We will send you offers only if you have said yes, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Booking online

The live-rate links on this site take you to our booking engine at thegrandambassador.bookingjini.in, run by Bookingjini. That page is not part of this website. You enter your booking and payment details there, Bookingjini handles them for us to make your reservation, and its own privacy policy also applies.

This page covers the website and your enquiries. It does not cover what is recorded when you check in, such as your photo ID. The front desk can tell you about that.

Who else handles your data

We use a few services to run the website and to answer you. Each handles your data only to provide that service.

• Cloudflare hosts this website.
• Hostinger runs our email, so emails to Reservations@thegrandambassador.com are stored on its servers.
• Bookingjini runs our online booking engine and its checkout.
• WhatsApp, run by Meta, carries WhatsApp messages between you and us.

Some of these services store data outside India.

The links to Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook open those services. What they collect is covered by their own policies, not this one.

We share your details with the police or other authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• An enquiry that does not become a booking: one year after we last heard from you. Then we delete it.
• Bookings and bills: as long as tax and other laws require. For tax records, that is several years.
• If you ask us to delete something sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you these rights, and we will honour them.

• Ask what we hold. A summary of the personal data we have about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with.
• Correct it. Ask us to correct, complete or update anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete it. Ask us to erase it. We will, unless we still need it for your booking or the law requires us to keep it.
• Change your mind. Tell us to stop using your details, or to stop sending offers, at any time. This does not undo what was done before.
• Nominate someone. Name a person who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act for yourself.
• Complain. Tell us first, and we will put it right or explain why not. If you are not satisfied, you can then complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these, email or call us and tell us which enquiry or booking it is about. We may need to check that it is you. We will reply within 30 days.

Keeping it safe

Only the staff who handle bookings and functions should see your enquiry, and we take reasonable care to keep it secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, as the law requires.

Children

If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to make the enquiry or booking for you.

Changes to this page

If we change this page, we will change the date at the top.
